The agreement between you and Poetic Licence
Each Poetic Licence poem is 100% unique. When you make payment in full, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions detailed below:
Poem content
The information you provide is used to capture a person and their individual character in the Poetic Licence poem you have ordered. It is your responsibility to provide appropriate content, and any information provided may be used in the Poetic Licence poem. Given the length of the poem, not all information given will be included.
Tweaks and changes
One set of tweaks and changes to the draft poem received are catered for in the time frame and pricing of your Poetic Licence poem. Should subsequent tweaks or changes be required, there may be an additional charge. This situation is highly unusual and can be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Confidentiality / privacy policy / age restrictions
As a Poetic Licence poem is a very personal, and personalised, product, confidentiality is taken very seriously. Your poem is your poem, and will only fully make sense to you, your nearest and dearest and the recipient of the poem. It will not be reproduced, in it’s entirety, anywhere. Details from your Poetic Licence poem may be used as an example of Poetic Licence work and presentation style but, please don’t worry, all names and details are safe!
By contacting Poetic Licence, or ordering a poem, you are confirming that you are 18 years of age or over.
Recording of the conversation between you and Poetic Licence
The recording of the conversation between you and Poetic Licence when talking through the questionnaire will only ever be heard by Sophie Broadhead. At the beginning of your conversation she will clarify that the conversation is being recorded. You may request for the conversation not to be recorded, if you’d prefer. Recording the conversation is very useful as it is helpful to be able to listen back and pick up on key words, phrases and ideas when drafting the poem. The recording will never be passed onto a third party. Once the recording has served it’s purpose, it will be destroyed.
Copyright - audio recordings
You will receive 1 - 2 audio recordings of Sophie Broadhead reading your Poetic Licence poem. This will be a useful tool for you to hear how the poem flows. It can also provide guidance / reference should you wish to practise the poem before you read it / present it to the lucky recipient.
All audio recordings of Poetic Licence poems, read by Sophie Broadhead, are the copyright of Poetic Licence and Sophie Broadhead and may not be reused or replicated without permission.
Sophie Broadhead holds the right to use details from, or part of, an audio recording of your Poetic Licence poem on the website and in the media and social media at any time.
An audio recording of a Poetic Licence poem must not be used for commercial purposes or financial gain.

Acceptance of orders
Through Poetic Licence, the aim is to write many, many wonderful words! As each order starts with a conversation, this will allow time frames and other details to be discussed and managed. The capacity of Poetic Licence to deliver excellent personalised poems does depend on availability. As a result, on occasion, Poetic Licence may not be in a position to take on orders . Apologies are made in advance for any inconvenience caused should this occur.
Cancellations / returns / refunds
Given the unique and personalised nature of a Poetic Licence poem, there is a no cancellation / no returns / no refunds policy on all poems, unless damage or error is through the negligence on Poetic Licence’s part.
When you order a poem from Poetic Licence, you are confirming you have seen previous examples of Poetic Licence writing and are happy with the style and language used. Once you have signed off on the final version of your Poetic Licence poem, no further changes can be made. The contents of your Poetic Licence poem will be taken exclusively from the information you have provided.

About Poetic Licence
You can find out more about Sophie Broadhead, Wordsmith, Poet and Founder of Poetic Licence, via the poem ‘An Ode to an Old Toad’ which she wrote to mark a big birthday of hers a few years ago.
The official details are that Poetic Licence is a registered company with CRO number 710695, based in Aughrim, Co. Wicklow, Ireland. The Poetic Licence brand is its own entity, including name, logo, website and address.
